Ancestors of William Taylor

The following from information collected from many sources over the years by J. Wiley.

Randolp Charlton and Margaret Jane Robinson were married in 1848. Their marriage license was granted May 6, 1848 and they were married May 7 1848. (Knox County, book 4, page 368) They had one daughter, Harriet Charlton who was 9 years old in the 1860 Census. He died after she was born, date unknown but probably before 1853. She then married William Taylor. The marriage license was granted on August 1, 1853 and they were joined in marriage on August 4, 1853. (entry 2039, Knox County, Indiana, book 4, page 621)

G. Anderson presented the following information to J. Wiley. From America's Greatest Pioneer Family by Ira Thomas Taylor and includes some history of the Taylor family. He writes "William Taylor married Margaret Jane Robinson, daughter of Benjamin Robinson. They lived on a farm near Oaktown, Indiana until 1876. They moved by covered wagon to Kansas in 1876."
In the 1880 Census the family was living in Kansas, Cowley, Ninnescah in 1880 Census as recorded on page 1.
